The World Health Organization announced the conclusion of the hantavirus outbreak associated with a cruise ship after the last identified contact completed quarantine with a negative test result.

The World Health Organization announced on Thursday that the hantavirus outbreak, connected to a cruise ship, has ended following the completion of the quarantine period by the last identified contact of an infected individual, whose test result was negative.
The outbreak involved the Andes strain, a rare hantavirus variant typically found in Argentina and Chile, and affected 13 people, resulting in three fatalities.
The cruise ship "MV Hondius," where the virus spread, had departed from Argentina on April 1.
