Dozens of airstrikes struck Houthi militia positions in the eastern part of Yemen’s Taiz Governorate, resulting in dozens of militia members killed and wounded.

Targets and locations

Local sources told Al-Ain News that Yemeni fighter jets conducted multiple airstrikes on Houthi militia sites in al-Huban, Damna Khadir, al-Rahda, and Mafraq al-Dhikra — all located east of Taiz.

The air raids specifically targeted Houthi troop concentrations, rocket launch platforms, and command-and-control centers across those areas.

Ongoing fighting in western Taiz

These airstrikes coincide with continued intense combat in the Khaboub mountain range west of Taiz, where Houthi militias are attempting to fully seize the high ground. According to the same sources, controlling these elevated positions would help secure their holdings near Bab al-Mandeb and the al-Mokha port.

Broader conflict escalation

Violent clashes have swept across Yemen since the start of this month following a large-scale, multi-axis Houthi offensive launched against western coastal areas. Local reports indicate that operation has resulted in thousands of casualties — both dead and injured.
