Kane Takes Time on Bayern Contract as Club President Updates on Future
Harry Kane is relaxed about extending his Bayern Munich contract, with discussions expected after the World Cup, says club president Herbert Hainer.

Bayern Munich's striker Harry Kane is not rushing to finalize a new contract despite the club's strong desire to secure his long-term commitment, according to Bayern president Herbert Hainer. The England captain is settled in Bavaria and prefers to wait until after the World Cup to formalize any extension at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern's stance on Kane's contract talks
Herbert Hainer confirmed the club's intention to extend Kane's deal, emphasizing that the player himself is relaxed about the timing. “There's no question that we want to extend Harry Kane's contract,” Hainer told Welt. “I also believe that Harry wants to extend with us. He himself said that he feels absolutely no pressure about whether it should happen before or after the World Cup. He's super relaxed about it.”
Hainer highlighted Kane’s focus on the current season and club goals, calling him “a fantastic athlete” for prioritizing team objectives over contract negotiations.
Financial terms and squad dynamics
Negotiations are expected to include substantial financial discussions, with reports indicating Kane seeks a package reflecting his importance to Bayern, potentially aiming for wage parity with teammate Jamal Musiala. Kane’s status has grown following a record-breaking Bundesliga season, surpassing expectations.
Despite media speculation about a Premier League return, Kane appears committed to building his legacy in Munich, where his family is comfortable and silverware is a regular achievement. The striker reportedly aims for a contract that could extend through 2030.
Retaining key attacking talents
Bayern is also focused on securing other offensive players, notably Michael Olise. Hainer dismissed any rumors about Olise's departure, stating, “Absolutely, he has a contract until 2029. Michael has developed brilliantly because he was given the opportunity with us to prove himself in a top international team.”
Hainer praised Bayern’s strike force as competitive on the global stage, noting that Olise benefits from the chance to compete for titles annually and sees no reason for him to consider leaving.
Season goals and upcoming challenges
Vincent Kompany’s team is preparing for the DFB-Pokal final against Stuttgart, with a win securing the domestic double. Hainer described the double as the “crowning achievement of the season,” adding that Bayern’s women’s team has already defended their title and the men aim to follow.
He noted Bayern’s first cup final appearance since 2020 and expressed confidence in the team’s form and international standing, calling the season “fantastic” and stating that FC Bayern “sets international benchmarks.”
