160mm Mortar Shell Discovered in Tripoli

Lebanese security authorities discovered a 160mm mortar shell in Tripoli. On-site response included specialized units: a military expert from the Internal Security Forces’ Judicial Police, the Tripoli Traffic Detachment, and the Bab al-Raml Unit.

Following on-site examination of the ordnance, competent authorities implemented required safety procedures ahead of controlled detonation. The explosion was carried out by authorized personnel and was heard throughout Tripoli.
