President of the Republic Joseph Aoun received the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Litani Water Authority, Sami Alawiya, who briefed President Aoun on the status of the authority's facilities under the current circumstances, especially after the surroundings of the Qaraoun Dam were subjected to Israeli attacks, in addition to the status of electric power plants and irrigation projects operating in the south and the southern coast, as well as the future projects of the institution and its spread around the Litani River, particularly in the Bekaa and the south, and the challenges it faces.

Alawiya noted, after the meeting at the Presidential Palace in Baabda, that President Aoun expressed his readiness to help in everything that would remove the obstacles hindering the work of these facilities, pointing out that "the President of the Republic, through the communications he made, saved the Qaraoun Dam from a disaster after the Israeli army targeted its surroundings and vital facilities with a series of raids that caused direct damage affecting some of the dam's infrastructure and its power supply system."

He stressed that "President Aoun is working hard to coordinate between the security forces to provide protection for employees of the power plants so that they can reach their workplaces."
