Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea received in Maarab the French presidential envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian, accompanied by his advisor Jean-Claude Mallet, Marie Favrelle and Romain Calvary, in the presence of MPs Strida Geagea and Ghassan Hasbani, former MP and member of the executive body Eddie Abi Al-Lama, and the head of the External Relations Department in the "Lebanese Forces" Richard Kouyoumjian.

The meeting, which lasted more than an hour, touched on the latest political and security developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as international efforts to support Lebanese stability.

The discussion also covered the conference that France is working to organize in support of the Lebanese army, where emphasis was placed on the importance of continued international support for the Lebanese military institution as the main pillar for maintaining security and stability and strengthening state authority.

Furthermore, the attendees reviewed regional changes and the positions of Arab and Gulf states, stressing that any support for Lebanon must translate into support for the Lebanese state, its sovereignty, and its legitimate institutions.

The Lebanese and French sides also discussed ongoing efforts and contacts at the regional and international levels, particularly the discussions related to the understandings and agreements proposed between Lebanon and Israel. In this context, it was stressed that the lesson remains in implementing any agreements and ensuring respect for their provisions in a way that achieves stability and safeguards Lebanese interests.

The French side, for its part, reaffirmed France's standing by Lebanon during this delicate phase and its continued support for the Lebanese state and its institutions, based on Paris's historic commitment to Lebanon's security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Le Drian expressed France's adherence to its steadfast policies towards Lebanon, especially regarding preserving its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and supporting its legitimate institutions, reiterating Paris's commitment to continue standing by the Lebanese in facing current challenges.
