Minister Charles Al-Haj held meetings with top officials to seek a legal and balanced solution for Ogero employees, stressing adherence to laws as essential for telecom reform.

Minister of Telecommunications Charles Al-Haj conducted a series of meetings with senior state officials to address the situation of employees at the Ogero authority. The aim was to find a legal and balanced resolution that preserves their rights and ensures the continuity of public services. These efforts were closely monitored by President Joseph Aoun, who is following the telecommunications sector and ongoing consultations attentively.
Within this framework, Al-Haj met with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and then with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri. He also held a meeting at the office of the President of the Court of Audit with Labor Minister Mohammad Haidar and the Court’s President, Judge Mohammad Badran.
The participants agreed that the employees of the authority "are not responsible for administrative errors or procedures they were not involved in making," and emphasized that "they should not bear the consequences of such mistakes." They confirmed that the adopted approach is based on two intertwined principles: respecting the law and judicial decisions, and protecting employees' rights while ensuring service continuity.
At the conclusion of his meetings, the Minister of Telecommunications revealed that all discussions demonstrated a general commitment to addressing the issue responsibly and without politicization. He stressed the necessity for consultations to reach a solution that safeguards rights, preserves public services, and supports the development of a modern telecommunications sector serving the Lebanese people. He reiterated that adherence to laws, particularly Law 431, is the correct path to resolving all problems facing the telecommunications sector.
