Ministry of Economy Raids Supermarket and Warehouse, Seizes Expired Food Products
The Ministry of Economy conducted a raid on a supermarket and its warehouse in Sidon, confiscating large quantities of expired and tampered food items.

The Ministry of Economy announced in a statement that as part of its ongoing efforts to protect consumer health, enhance market oversight, and combat fraud and manipulation of food products, the Economy Department in the South, in coordination with the Regional Directorate of State Security in the South, carried out a raid targeting a supermarket and its affiliated warehouse in the city of Sidon.
The statement indicated that the operation resulted in the seizure of large quantities of expired food products, along with items found to have manipulated expiration dates, constituting a clear violation of applicable laws and regulations. Following instructions from the South Public Prosecutor, Judge Zahir Hamadeh, all confiscated goods were seized pending their destruction in accordance with proper procedures. Additionally, the supermarket and warehouse were sealed with red wax, and a seizure report was filed against the violator to complete the necessary legal and judicial procedures.
