The Ogero employees' union announced the start of an open strike from Tuesday, October 27, 2026, demanding amendments to Law 431 to secure workers' rights and benefits.

The Ogero employees' union announced in a statement that it is proceeding with "the open strike starting Tuesday, October 27, 2026," due to the continued permanent rejection of amending certain articles of Law 431. It affirmed that "amending the law is the primary guarantor of rights and acquired benefits, particularly the compensation under Law 161."
It specified the "mechanism for adhering to the strike as follows:
- No attendance at work centers whatsoever, and stopping the recording of attendance or fingerprinting.
- All employees must comply with the union's decisions, maintain unity and responsibility, and follow directives only through official channels.
Managing emergency cases through the union's crisis cell:
- All technical emergencies and cases must pass through the crisis cell, which assesses and handles each issue individually according to its degree of importance and exceptional necessity, ensuring the continuity of essential services without undermining the strike decision.
Negotiation and preserving rights:
- Keeping negotiation and dialogue channels open with all stakeholders, aiming to reach serious solutions that guarantee the full preservation of employees' rights."
The union affirmed its "steadfastness and unity in defending dignity, livelihood, and job rights until tangible results are achieved."
