Shahada participated in the GPC conference in London and visited the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

Minister of Displaced Persons and Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence Dr. Kamal Shahada participated in the GPC (Global Partnerships Conference) in London, at the invitation of the British government, to discuss best ways of cooperation in the fields of digital transformation, technology, and financial inclusion.

Minister of Displaced Persons and Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence Dr. Kamal Shahada participated in the GPC (Global Partnerships Conference) in London,

at the invitation of the British government, to discuss best ways of cooperation in the fields of digital transformation, technology, and financial inclusion.

On the sidelines of the conference, Shahada held meetings with a number of ministers and officials from Arab and European countries, including France, Bahrain, Qatar, Yemen, in addition to a number of African countries.

Shahada also visited the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and met with Board Member and Head of the Bank's Lebanon Office John Nikolaizen, in addition to Executive Director for Digital Transformation Dina Matta, and Head of Risk Management at the Bank Fatoumata Bouare.

The discussion addressed a number of key files, most notably projects that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development can support in Lebanon, especially in the fields of technology and artificial intelligence, in addition to mechanisms for financing technology projects and startups in Lebanon.

Bank officials expressed great interest in investing in Lebanon and supporting promising development and technology projects, but they stressed the importance of "reaching a final agreement between Lebanon and the International Monetary Fund, as a fundamental step to open the door to implementing many projects that the bank intends to launch in Lebanon in the coming period."
