A water supply disruption due to a power outage is affecting southern Lebanon, prompting authorities to urge citizens to conserve water amid reduced service duration.

South Lebanon Water Authority announced in a statement, "To all subscribers across its various districts, a reduction in water supply due to the shutdown of the public electricity distribution line since yesterday morning until now, which affects all Lebanese regions, and also impacts the authority's facilities, main production plants, wells, and all distribution stations. Note that the authority has activated generators to cover the electricity outage, but this is insufficient to provide adequate water quantities to supply all cities and towns within the authority's jurisdiction."
The authority called on "citizens to strictly conserve water use due to the reduced water supply duration, until power generation plants resume normal electricity supply."
