Meghan Markle reportedly declined a UK trip, causing a significant rift with Prince Harry that led to a period of silence between them.

A dispute over a planned UK visit reportedly caused Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to stop speaking to each other. The Duchess of Sussex allegedly informed her husband that she would not attend, escalating tensions in their marriage.
Heatworld reported that the conflict occurred just hours before Markle's departure to Geneva. A source explained, “Things boiled over just hours before Meghan flew out to Geneva,” and the couple “didn’t speak for a while afterwards.”
During this time, Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, was reportedly staying at their Montecito residence. Markle used FaceTime to connect her mother with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The Geneva engagement was related to the Lost Screen Memorial event in Switzerland.
The argument also highlighted Harry’s plans for a family summer in Europe, which included Portugal as a base. The source noted that Harry was “getting incredibly sentimental” ahead of their eighth anniversary.
Harry was attempting to organize a visit to Balmoral so King Charles could meet the children. However, the source indicated that Markle had learned Prince William and Kate Middleton viewed the Sussexes as “not welcome” and were reluctant to have their family retreat impacted by “Hollywood drama.”
Despite the reported disagreement, Markle and Harry continued to share anniversary messages from California. Their children participated in a “Happy anniversary to mama and papa” moment at home. Nonetheless, the source said Markle told Harry to proceed with the UK trip alone, stating there was “no way she would be joining” him.
The July Invictus Games countdown event in Birmingham was also a point of contention. The insider added that Harry feared being “cut off from his wife and his children” during the summer.
