During a recent episode of the New York Times’ “Popcast,” Olivia Rodrigo addressed circulating rumors about tension between her and Taylor Swift. When asked about the speculation, Rodrigo stated that she does not take such reports seriously.
The controversy reportedly began after Swift’s team received retroactive co-writing credits for Rodrigo’s 2021 single “Deja Vu.” This development has been linked to a perceived cooling of their relationship.

Reports of a falling out between Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift have persisted since the co-writing credit issue surfaced. Rodrigo, 23, has been questioned multiple times regarding her connection with Swift following the revelation that Swift’s team was acknowledged as co-writers on “Deja Vu.”
On the “Popcast,” Rodrigo reflected on how she manages such rumors, saying, “I don’t really read too far into it. I think it comes to the territory, and it’s part of the course.” She added that taking online speculation about any of her relationships seriously would be overwhelming, stating, “There’s just not enough time in the day.”
The interviewer also inquired whether the rumors had caused a rift between Rodrigo and Swift. She responded, “I think I tried not to let it get to me or upset me,” noting that the issue arose some time ago. Rodrigo emphasized her focus on creating music she loves and being supportive and kind to others.
In a 2023 interview with Rolling Stone, Rodrigo similarly dismissed feud rumors, stating she “didn’t have beef with anyone.”
