10-Year-Old Girl Discovers She Is Six Months Pregnant

A 10-year-old girl was transported to a hospital in Argentina after suffering from severe abdominal pain, only to discover that she is six months pregnant.

According to details revealed in the case, the girl's mother took her daughter to the emergency department at "Colonia Dora" Hospital in Santiago del Estero province, where a medical examination confirmed the progression of the pregnancy.

The Daily Star reported that the mother told the doctor that her daughter had not yet started menstruating. During the examination, the girl identified her stepfather, Julio Vivas, aged 33, as the person suspected of being responsible for abusing her.

Following the allegations, prosecutor Guillermo Farias, who is overseeing the investigation, issued an arrest warrant for the suspect. Police went to a residence in the rural area of El Bracho, where he lived with the girl and her mother, and arrested him on Tuesday. They also seized his mobile phone as part of the investigative procedures.

The Women's Police are involved in gathering evidence and taking statements to determine the circumstances of the incident. Vivas remains detained pending investigation, while criminal responsibility in the case has not yet been established.

On her side, Norma Gomez, the girl's grandmother, expressed shock over what happened, stating that she had previously warned her daughter Andrea against placing excessive trust in the man, whom she met via telephone.

Gomez added, in comments to local station Noticiero 7, that she had advised her daughter to be cautious in dealing with him. She also spoke about experiencing a painful ordeal during her own childhood, highlighting the immense pain she felt upon discovering what her granddaughter allegedly suffered.
