Egyptian security agencies have resolved the case involving the burglary of former Prime Minister Atef Ebeid's home located in the Dokki area of Giza, successfully arresting the suspects and recovering the stolen cash.

Investigations revealed that the former prime minister's wife had left the apartment to spend her summer vacation at a coastal city in the North Coast. Upon her return, she discovered that the door of one of the apartment's safes had been broken open, and a sum of 350,000 Egyptian pounds was missing.

Immediately, the security forces at the Dokki police station formed a task force to investigate the incident. The inquiry quickly identified and apprehended the perpetrators.

Initial investigations indicated that the suspects were unaware of the apartment owners' identities. They took advantage of the absence of residents, climbed the building's pipes to enter the apartment, broke open the safe's door, and stole the money.

When confronted, the suspects confessed to the crime and disclosed the location of the stolen funds. The security forces managed to recover the money and proceeded with the necessary legal measures, while investigative authorities took over the case.

Dr. Atef Ebeid is among Egypt's former prime ministers, having served from 1999 to 2004. Prior to that, he held several ministerial positions, most notably the Ministry of Public Business Sector. His name is closely linked to the economic reform program and privatization efforts Egypt underwent during that period.

In recent years, the Ministry of Interior has intensified its efforts by deploying criminal investigation teams, employing advanced technologies, and analyzing surveillance camera footage to track down perpetrators of theft crimes. These measures have contributed to the swift resolution of many cases, leading to the arrest of suspects and the recovery of stolen property.
