Apple is nearing the launch of its latest operating system, iOS 27, with leaks surfacing that outline significant updates poised to transform how iPhone users engage with their devices.

According to the circulating leaks, the American tech giant is preparing extensive changes centered on artificial intelligence, prominently featuring a complete overhaul of the Siri voice assistant to enable more interactive and conversational experiences. Additional improvements are expected across major system applications and services.

Journalist Mark Gurman detailed in a Bloomberg report that Apple is undertaking a radical shift in user experience by expanding the integration of “Apple Intelligence” technologies within iOS and introducing new tools aimed at boosting competitiveness in the AI market.

Siri’s Redesigned Interface and Capabilities

The leaks highlight a near-total redesign of Siri, moving beyond its traditional role of executing voice commands to becoming a smart assistant capable of extended conversations and more natural user interaction, resembling modern chatbot systems.

As reported by tbreak, activating Siri via the side button or voice commands will bring up a new interactive interface displaying information and results in transparent cards embedded within the Dynamic Island. This design aims to deliver answers more smoothly and quickly.

Users will be able to switch to a full chat interface similar to the iMessage app, allowing continuous dialogue with Siri. The assistant will present personalized data such as weather updates, notes, upcoming appointments, and internet-sourced information with enhanced visual elements for clarity.

New Dedicated Siri Application and Expanded AI Support

For the first time in iOS, Apple plans to introduce a standalone Siri app. This app will enable users to review past conversations, search within them, and easily initiate new interactions through a dedicated interface.

The app will support uploading images and documents and allow interaction with Siri via typing or voice commands, broadening its usability within the system.

Beyond Siri’s enhancements, Apple intends to broaden support for external AI services within the “Apple Intelligence” ecosystem. Leaks suggest users might choose alternative AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Gemini for writing tools and content generation, rather than being limited to predefined options.

Work is underway on a unified search bar named “Search or Ask,” combining traditional search with AI capabilities to provide smarter results based on data from various apps.

Additional AI Features and System Updates

Apple is preparing to update the Image Playground app with a simpler, more user-friendly interface. Enhancements will include a new “describe a change” feature allowing users to specify desired photo edits, alongside testing AI models capable of generating more realistic images.

The upcoming changes extend beyond Siri and AI tools, encompassing broad updates to the Camera, Photos, Wallet, and Shortcuts apps. Improvements are also expected in the keyboard and autocorrect functions.

The AirPods settings interface is set to receive a redesign for easier access to options, and the quality of images and emojis created through Genmoji and Image Playground features will be enhanced.

Leaked information also mentions the possibility for users to select alternatives to the AirPlay service, such as Google Cast, as a default option for media streaming.

Moreover, the system is anticipated to support Apple Maps usage via satellite communications and incorporate deeper AI integration within Safari, Wallet, and Shortcuts applications.

Apple is scheduled to officially unveil iOS 27 at the WWDC 2026 conference starting on June 8, with the update expected to be released to users in September.
