World Cup 2026
Haaland Expresses Dream of Playing in World Cup with Norway
Haaland shares his excitement about representing Norway in the World Cup, highlighting the team's strong unity and recent qualification over Italy.

Erling Haaland is preparing to compete in the World Cup with the Norwegian national team, which is placed in Group 9 alongside France and Senegal.
Norway secured its spot in the World Cup after delivering an exceptional qualifying campaign, with Haaland and his teammates clinching qualification by surpassing Italy.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Haaland described his World Cup participation as "an incredible feeling, something I have always dreamed of. I grew up like any other fan, watching TV at home with friends and family. Now it’s different because I am here and will be part of the national team. This is what a person dreams of."
Haaland also expressed confidence in the current Norwegian squad, stating, "We have a great group of players who have been through a lot together, so we know each other well and enjoy playing together. This is important. The Norwegian team hasn’t qualified for the World Cup in a long time, so the chance to represent your country in the World Cup is special and what every player wishes for. People expect a lot from us, including me, which is natural. I just focus on my work and try to give my best."
Norway’s first group stage match will be against Iraq on Wednesday, June 17, at 1:00 AM Cairo and Iraq time.
