Jude Bellingham continued his impressive form throughout the 2026 World Cup, playing a key role in England’s achievement of finishing third in the tournament.

England secured third place by defeating France in an intense match that ended 6-4 in favor of the English team.

England’s manager Gareth Southgate praised Bellingham’s performance, describing it as "unbelievable" and stating that they are "very lucky to have him with us."

Following England’s match against Argentina, Bellingham expressed his disappointment with the result, calling it a "sad end to the dream."

France was unable to secure a victory in the farewell game for their coach Didier Deschamps, who will officially leave the national team after the World Cup.

Bellingham, who plays for Real Madrid, delivered his best performances with the England national team during this edition of the tournament. He was a prominent figure in England’s campaign and stood out as one of the team’s top players, surpassing even captain and top scorer Harry Kane in influence.

He set a historic record at the 2026 World Cup by becoming the first midfielder to score seven goals in a single tournament. In addition to his seven goals, he assisted one more, bringing his total goal contributions to eight.

Throughout England’s eight matches in the competition, Bellingham was awarded Man of the Match four times. Only Argentine star Lionel Messi exceeded this, receiving the award five times.

In the overall scoring chart of the 2026 World Cup, Bellingham ranked fourth. His Real Madrid teammate, French forward Kylian Mbappé, led the list with 10 goals, followed by Lionel Messi with eight goals, and Norwegian striker Erling Haaland in third place with seven goals.

Mbappé and Messi are competing for the Golden Boot award, as well as for the top spot among the all-time World Cup goal scorers.
