Arab League Condemns Iran's Continued Attacks on Neighboring Countries
Arab League Secretary-General condemns Iran's ongoing attacks on Gulf states and Jordan, calling for unified Arab response and Security Council action.

The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Nabil Fahmy, expressed his firm rejection and strong denunciation of what he described as Iran's ongoing adoption of policies and actions that undermine the security and stability of the region.
Fahmy characterized Iran's assaults on several Arab countries as violations of international law principles, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817, in addition to breaching the rules of good neighborliness.
He reiterated his absolute rejection of any practices that infringe upon the sovereignty of Arab states or the integrity of their territories, or that pose threats to their national security and stability. This includes repeated Iranian attacks on commercial vessels, which jeopardize the security and freedom of international navigation, as well as continued hostile acts against Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, and Jordan.
Fahmy emphasized that no justification for these condemned and rejected attacks can be accepted, affirming that the security of Arab countries is indivisible. He stated that any violation of the sovereignty of any Arab state constitutes an unacceptable breach that requires a unified and firm Arab stance.
He reaffirmed the Arab League's full solidarity with the Arab countries confronting these assaults and its support for all legitimate measures they undertake to defend their sovereignty, protect their security, and safeguard their populations.
Fahmy called upon the United Nations Security Council to assume its responsibilities and take effective steps to halt these violations, ensure respect for international law, and preserve the security of international navigation, thereby contributing to enhancing security and stability in the region.
On Sunday, the Gulf region witnessed a new military escalation as Iran renewed its attacks on Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, and Kuwait. The four countries activated their defense systems to counter hostile missiles and drones amid heightened security measures and warnings to residents.
The Iranian attacks on Gulf states and Jordan followed an earlier announcement by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) regarding the conclusion of a new round of airstrikes on targets within Iranian territory. These strikes were in response to an incident involving an attack on a container ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
This Iranian escalation against Arab countries came weeks after a period of calm that followed the memorandum of understanding signed between Washington and Tehran on June 17. That agreement had restored maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. However, tensions resurfaced with Iran's attacks on commercial vessels, at a time when the strait remains one of the most vital global corridors for oil and gas transportation.
