The spokesperson for Foreign Affairs at the European Union, Anvar El-Anani, announced today that the bloc has contacted Israel regarding its permission for a Russian ship, carrying what Ukraine describes as stolen grain, to dock in the Israeli port of Haifa.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated that the ministry summoned the Israeli ambassador due to what he described as Israel's inaction and its permission to receive grain shipments coming from Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia.

El-Anani said in response to a request for comment on the situation: "We condemn all actions that help finance Russia's illegal war effort and circumvent EU sanctions, and we remain prepared to target such actions by listing individuals and entities in third countries (on sanctions lists) if necessary."

He added: "We have contacted the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding this matter."
