Joint forces and Houthi militias engaged in fierce battles in southern Hodeidah, with ongoing exchanges of fire and attempts to repel advances.

At dawn on Tuesday, forces loyal to the Houthi militia launched a large-scale military attack targeting the positions of the joint forces in the Hays front, located in the southern part of Hodeidah governorate overlooking the Red Sea in northwestern Yemen.
Military sources within the joint forces informed that the Houthi attack, conducted on multiple axes, triggered clashes between the two sides involving the use of various medium and heavy weapons.
The sources described the battles as intense, confirming that the forces stationed at the front succeeded in halting the Houthis' field advancement and foiled their infiltration attempt.
In this context, the media center of the Zaraniq forces, one of the factions within the joint forces, stated that the infantry brigades 13 and 14 repelled the Houthi assault after engaging in fierce battles, inflicting human casualties and material damage on the militia.
The Zaraniq media, via its official Facebook page, noted that the clashes were ongoing at the time of the statement's release across several combat axes, highlighting a heavy exchange of gunfire occurring simultaneously on the front.
It added that the forces stationed at the front are responding with full strength and determination to hostile fire sources and movements, continuing to defend their positions with steadfastness.
The Hays front has witnessed repeated rounds of military escalation, often resulting in mutual human losses, while the joint forces report their field superiority and capability to decisively win confrontations, thwarting Houthi attacks and infiltration attempts.
