Houthi Militia Fires Missile Toward Israel Amid Rising Iran Tensions
The Israeli military reported intercepting a missile launched by the Houthi militia from Yemen targeting Israeli territory amid recent escalations involving Iran.

The Israeli army announced on Monday that it detected a missile launched by the Houthi militia from Yemen aimed at Israeli targets, coinciding with a recent military escalation involving Iran.
In a brief statement posted on the platform X, the Israeli military confirmed that its defense systems intercepted the threat while warning sirens sounded, signaling an external attack.
The Home Front Command reported that alarm sirens were activated in the Greater Tel Aviv area and southern Israel following the detection of missiles originating from Yemen.
Later, the Israeli military radio reported that flights resumed at Ben Gurion Airport minutes after the interception of the Houthi missile.
This incident marks the first missile attack by the Houthi militia—considered one of Iran's regional proxies—from Yemen since the ceasefire agreement on April 8, reflecting support for the Iranian regime.
Earlier on Monday, the Israeli army announced airstrikes targeting military sites in western and central Iran, following Iranian missile strikes on Israel, which were the first since the April ceasefire.
Despite former President Trump's request, Israel has commenced a "response campaign" against Iranian attacks.
