Iran May Reconsider Nuclear Doctrine If Facing Existential Threat, Security Committee Spokesman Says
The spokesman for Iran's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee warned Tehran might revise its nuclear policy if confronted with a large-scale military threat.

The National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly cautioned that Tehran could reassess its nuclear doctrine and undertake escalatory measures if the country encounters a broad military threat.
Ibrahim Rezaei, the committee’s spokesman, stated that one of the options under consideration involves Iran withdrawing from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. He added that Tehran might "consider changing its nuclear doctrine if it perceives a threat to the survival of the Islamic Republic," particularly from the United States.
In remarks broadcast by Al Mayadeen channel, the Iranian official also noted that the country "has not utilized much of its capabilities" during the recent regional war, suggesting that the events did not fully demonstrate Iran’s military potential.
Rezaei further issued a warning to Gulf states supporting U.S. President Donald Trump, urging them to "be concerned about their oil and gas fields," implying these could be affected by any future regional escalation.
