Iran Offers Immediate Dialogue on Yemen Based on Agreed Roadmap

Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement early Friday declaring the country’s readiness to enter into immediate dialogue concerning developments in Yemen, based on an agreed-upon roadmap.

The ministry reiterated its principled and consistent position: respect for Yemen’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial unity, alongside the necessity of ending the blockade imposed on the country.

Yemen’s right to live free from pressure

It stated that current regional developments cannot be separated from global transformations witnessed over the past decade. The statement affirmed that the Yemeni people “have the right to live away from pressures, terrorism, and unjust blockade.”

Rejection of military solutions and blockade

Tehran emphasized that resolving issues related to Yemen cannot be achieved through continuation of the blockade or via a military approach. It stressed that the path to resolution runs exclusively through dialogue and mutual understanding.

The ministry concluded its statement by reiterating Iran’s readiness to engage immediately in dialogue anchored in the agreed roadmap and to provide all possible assistance to advance along this path.

This announcement comes amid rapidly escalating military activity in Yemen and renewed fighting between the Houthi forces and Yemeni government troops.
