Iranian Army Accuses US of Violating Memorandum and Warns of Crushing Response to Aggression
The Iranian army spokesperson accused Washington of breaching the memorandum of understanding and vowed a severe response to any hostile acts against Iran.

The spokesperson for the Iranian army, Mohammad Akrami Nia, stated that the United States has failed to comply with the terms of the memorandum of understanding signed with Iran. He accused Washington of attempting to impose a course that contradicts the agreement concerning the southern Strait of Hormuz.
In an interview with the Iranian news channel, Akrami Nia highlighted the United States' long record of failing to honor international agreements. He referred to former US President Donald Trump's previous withdrawal from the nuclear deal and other international agreements during his tenure.
Akrami Nia added that this pattern of non-compliance is also evident in the current memorandum of understanding between the two countries. He described US actions in the southern Strait of Hormuz as conflicting with the provisions of the agreement.
The army spokesperson clarified that Iran considers itself responsible for regulating traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and is working to reach mutual understandings with the Sultanate of Oman on this matter.
He affirmed that Iran will defend its rights as stipulated in the memorandum and called on the United States to adhere to its terms while respecting the security of the region and the interests of its countries.
Furthermore, Akrami Nia warned that any US measures targeting Iranian islands, coasts, or facilities would be met with a response. He noted that Iranian forces responded last night to what he described as US interference.
Earlier on Sunday, the Iranian Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, declared that the era of unilateral agreements has ended, stating, "Either commitments are honored, or the price of non-compliance will be paid."
Ghalibaf posted on his account on the platform X: "The era of unilateral agreements is over. We have told you: fulfill your promises and commitments, or you must pay the price. Now you must face reality."
He also shared part of Article 5 from the 14-article memorandum of understanding, which emphasizes reopening the Strait of Hormuz according to "Iranian arrangements."
Meanwhile, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and army announced today launching missile and drone strikes targeting several American interests and bases in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, and the Sultanate of Oman.
The US military reported completing a new wave of strikes against Iran, marking the third this week.
The US Central Command stated in a release: "We targeted approximately 140 Iranian military objectives using aircraft from land and sea bases, drones, and naval vessels," noting that the strikes followed an attack by the Revolutionary Guard on a Cyprus-flagged container ship.
In response, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared that the US military attacked Iran's southern coasts as compensation for its failure in the Strait of Hormuz and warned that continued aggression would provoke a harsher retaliation.
