Iranian Leadership Heads on Trump's Agenda
US intelligence reports advise President Trump against targeting Iran's religious and political leaders in potential strikes, citing risks of power vacuums and radicalization.

Reports from the US Intelligence Agency delivered to President Donald Trump's office contained an analysis advising that US attacks on Iran, should new military strikes be launched, should not target the high-level religious and political leadership of the Iranian regime.
American diplomatic sources revealed that these reports emphasized the need to avoid repeating the mistakes of the 40-day war by eliminating regime leaders, most notably former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei; this resulted in a power vacuum and the rise of figures who imposed more extreme equations, both in negotiations and regarding US interests in the region and internationally.
The American sources close to officials at the National Security Council told "Erem News" that these reports also included a briefing stating that military action would require imposing a heavy preemptive fire perimeter, whether on pro-Tehran factions in Iraq or the Houthi militia in Yemen.
This comes as Trump confirmed he is considering launching an attack on Iran, saying there is a possibility he will do so, perhaps tomorrow. There is also a possibility of reaching a good, big, and wonderful deal, as he described it, noting that the Iranians want to make a deal, but the question is: will they stick to it?
An American diplomat close to National Security Council officials said that intelligence briefings on Trump's desk confirm the necessity of categorizing levels within Iran's leadership—religious, political, and governmental—to avoid targeting them like major military figures, especially those in the Revolutionary Guard, who are considered operational target banks.
The American diplomat added to "Erem News" that these briefings confirmed military action would rely on three gradual levels: first, power stations; second, oil facilities; and third, infrastructure structures of nuclear facilities.
Former Deputy Assistant Secretary for National Security Thomas Warrick stated that Iranian targeting plans against US diplomats or US interests will not delay any potential air strike Trump might launch against Iran.
Warrick clarified to "Erem News" that the most important files related to the expected strike on Iran are the set targets that will be hit, which involve many calculations—not only economic but also military and concerning international security.
Warrick noted that the targets the United States prepares when moving toward military action against Iran do not stop at the boundaries of the US administration but include regional countries, part of which do not want this escalation, while another part is currently discussing with Trump about Iranian targets and the resulting reactions.
Warrick explained that Trump's discussions with the US administration or with regional leaders may influence the choice of targets, but it will not change the fact that he will launch some kind of attack on Iran, amid reports that if Iranian oil production facilities or sites are targeted, Tehran will in turn target similar facilities in the region.
This coincides with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently confirming that he issued instructions to Mossad and the army to work on toppling the Iranian regime.
In a television interview, he affirmed: "I have instructed Mossad and the Israeli army to topple the Iranian regime. We have an opportunity to ensure a bright future for the State of Israel. We try by all means to hide this real question from you—who will ensure the future of the Land of Israel?"
At the same time, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz denied the existence of disagreements between the political leadership and the army regarding dealing with Iran, affirming that Israel did not intend to launch an attack on Tehran before the parliamentary elections, amid reports of tensions between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir.
