US President Donald Trump indicated that he was not very convinced by the truce with Iran, considering it "a waste of time," and affirmed that the United States is imposing an unprecedented naval blockade on Tehran.

Trump added that US forces have full control over the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, stating: "We are extracting more oil from it than passed through before the war," noting that no Iranian ship has been able to breach the naval blockade for many months, according to him.

Regarding military operations, Trump said that US forces destroyed the Iranian Navy and sank 159 ships, in addition to destroying 268 fighter jets and most of Iran's radar systems. He added: "Iranians are smart and make effective weapons, but we inflicted a harsh defeat on them."

The US President accused Iran of killing Americans since 1979, describing it as "the world's leading sponsor of terrorism," and claimed that it was only two weeks away from possessing a nuclear missile.

Trump referred to the killing of Qasem Soleimani during his first term, saying that he was responsible for attacks that resulted in the death of Americans and injury of others.
