Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared on Wednesday that any threat directed at the Iranian people or its leadership will be met with an immediate and forceful response. This statement was made in reaction to remarks by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz.

Araghchi posted on the platform X, emphasizing that the terms of the memorandum of understanding reached through mediation in Islamabad are completely clear and publicly accessible for all to review. He added that U.S. President Donald Trump has committed the United States, under this agreement, to restrain its allies in Tel Aviv.

He further stated that if the Israeli entity disregards the orders of their master in Washington, Iran is prepared to deliver a harsh lesson and will not hesitate to protect its security.

In his post, Araghchi wrote: “The terms of the Islamabad MoU are crystal clear and public for all to see. POTUS has committed the U.S. to muzzling its pets in Tel Aviv. If they ignore their master, Iran will school them. Any threat against our People and Leadership will receive Immediate Powerful Response.”

Earlier on Wednesday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Israel would not wait for a threat to materialize before acting. He added that if necessary, Israel would launch a new attack on Iran.

During a state memorial ceremony for soldiers who died in the Second Lebanon War, Katz remarked that the events of October 7 demonstrated the need not to wait until a threat reaches the border. He confirmed that Israel has carried out preventive strikes originating from Iran twice and stated that a third strike would be executed if required.
