Iraqi Judiciary Seizes 14 Billion Dinars in Oil Ministry Case
The Iraqi judiciary confiscated 14 billion dinars linked to the suspended Oil Ministry official Adnan Al-Jumaili and others involved.

The Iraqi judicial authorities have confiscated an additional 14 billion dinars in connection with the case involving Adnan Al-Jumaili, the suspended Deputy Minister of Oil for Liquidation Affairs, along with other parties implicated in the matter.
A judge from the Central Court of Anti-Corruption Crimes stated that the seized amount, approximately 10.7 million US dollars, was discovered through meticulous tracking of financial proceeds resulting from waste in projects executed by the accused and related entities.
The judge noted that the funds were concealed inside a pit designed for rainwater drainage and confirmed that investigations continue to identify all individuals involved in the case.
In recent days, Iraq has witnessed an extensive anti-corruption campaign targeting both former and current officials, including the issuance of arrest warrants, seizure of substantial sums, and referral of financial files to the judiciary.
These measures are considered among the broadest anti-corruption prosecutions in years, with government assurances that the efforts will not be limited to specific names.
