The Israeli military and security agency Shin Bet announced a strike in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, on Wednesday, killing Muhammad Abu Alwan, head of finance for Hamas.

The Israeli military and security agency Shin Bet announced that they carried out a strike on Wednesday in the Khan Yunis area in southern Gaza, resulting in the death of Muhammad Abu Alwan, head of finance for the Hamas movement.
According to the joint statement, "Abu Alwan began his activities over a decade ago and was responsible for preparing the budget for all branches of Hamas. During the war, he directed transfers of more than one billion shekels to fund terrorist activities, making him a key figure in maintaining the organization's rule and survival. Recently, he worked on restoring the group's capabilities to systematically breach the ceasefire, which prompted its targeting from the air to eliminate the threat he posed."
The statement emphasized that the army and Shin Bet continue focusing their efforts on "undermining Hamas's financial capabilities and preventing the restoration of its infrastructure and military capacity, including eliminating terrorists and targeting networks of money changers and intermediaries involved in transferring hundreds of millions of dollars."
The statement claimed that "prior to the strike, steps were taken to minimize harm to civilians, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. Security forces remain deployed in the area under the command of the Southern Command, in accordance with the agreement, and will continue operations to eliminate any immediate threats."
