Netanyahu Holds Security Meeting to Address Iranian Threats
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu convenes a security meeting with Defense Minister Katz amid Iranian threats following Israeli airstrikes on Beirut's southern suburb.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to hold a limited security meeting this evening with Defense Minister Yisrael Katz and heads of the security establishment to discuss threats originating from Lebanon and Iran, according to a report by Yedioth Ahronoth on Sunday.
The Iranian command center "Khatam al-Anbiya" declared on Sunday that "Israeli attacks on Beirut's southern suburb will not go unanswered," as stated by the group.
In a related development, Ibrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security Committee, announced on Sunday that Iran will respond to the targeting of Beirut’s southern suburb "tonight." Rezaei posted on the platform X that Iran’s response will be decisive and painful, saying, "Watch the skies over the occupied territories tonight," using his own words.
Meanwhile, Israeli media estimate that Hezbollah and Iran will issue a "limited and coordinated" response to the airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburb.
The Israeli Air Force conducted an airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburb today, following orders from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, the Israeli military confirmed.
The Israeli army stated in a release: "Under the directives of Benjamin Netanyahu and Katz, the Israeli military has now launched airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in the southern suburb of Beirut."
According to Israeli reports, Tel Aviv informed the U.S. administration about the attack on the Al-Marjeh area in Beirut’s southern suburb prior to its execution, noting that the operations room targeted by the military was empty at the time.
The report added that Israeli officials view this military action as establishing a "new equation" with Hezbollah, based on a scorched-earth principle immediately following any gunfire.
