Netanyahu: US Sent Gaza Draft to Israel, Not Approved

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Tuesday that the U.S. administration had transmitted a draft document to Tel Aviv concerning the Gaza Strip, and that Israel had not approved it, instead submitting formal comments on the text.

Netanyahu noted that U.S. President Donald Trump and his team hold the view that Hamas can be disarmed and that Gaza can become a demilitarized zone, adding that they are “assessing” this possibility.

Israel’s military directives amid U.S. pressure

He directed Israel’s armed forces to carry out all necessary actions to defend themselves, Israeli citizens, and Israeli territory — a statement issued following reports of American pressure on Israel to pause military operations in Gaza.

Conditions for Israeli withdrawal from Gaza

Netanyahu affirmed Israel’s firm stance on its security interests, declaring that Israeli forces would not withdraw from positions inside the Gaza Strip until Hamas is fully disarmed.

The same position was reiterated by the Peace Council on Monday, stating that Israel will not retreat beyond the “original line” in Gaza unless Hamas surrenders all weapons “in full.”

This declaration followed a meeting between the Peace Council — chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump — and Netanyahu.

Also on Monday, Israel informed the United States of its concerns regarding the U.S.-backed plan to end the war in Gaza, a plan previously praised by Donald Trump.
