Terror in Germany: Explosive Material Leak Halts Life and Suddenly Closes Schools!
A tanker carrying dangerous nitric acid overturned in Krefeld, Germany, causing a leak that led to school closures and health warnings for residents.

The German city of Krefeld experienced a state of alert following the overturning of a tanker carrying dangerous nitric acid and its subsequent leakage, prompting authorities to close schools and warn residents in the incident area of potential health risks.
Authorities announced the closure of several schools and daycares throughout Friday, along with a partial suspension of train traffic in the region, while the truck driver was injured and transported to the hospital for treatment.
The accident occurred overnight on Highway 57, where the truck loaded with nitric acid overturned and the chemical substance began to leak, according to a spokesperson for the fire departments.
Via the German warning app "NINA," authorities issued the highest level of warning, describing the situation as posing a "serious danger," urging residents in affected areas to stay indoors, close windows and doors, and shut off ventilation and air conditioning systems.
Nitric acid is widely used in chemical industries, especially in the production of fertilizers and explosives, but an uncontrolled leak can pose a significant risk to health.
About 150 emergency personnel are participating in containing the leak and extracting the acid from the truck, supported by specialized units for handling hazardous materials, while authorities have imposed a security perimeter extending approximately one kilometer around the incident site.
