Trump Announces Imminent Hormuz, Nuclear Deal as Talks Begin Monday

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that an agreement has been reached concerning the Strait of Hormuz and affirmed that “there will be a deal on the nuclear program” related to Iran.

Trump said the American side continues discussions with Iran over the format of negotiations, specifying that formal talks will commence “Monday evening.”

Timing and conditions for negotiations

He added: “Clearly, they do not want to be attacked. They were aware of the scale of the attack because they saw its formation taking shape. What we are doing now is speaking with them within the framework of negotiations. They will begin tomorrow — Monday — in the afternoon.”

Trump had announced the cancellation of a planned military strike against Iran the previous day, following hours of heightened tension and media reports suggesting the United States was moving toward broad-scale military escalation against Tehran.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump described the cancellation of the scheduled attack as “contingent upon the ability to reach an agreement quickly.”

Nonetheless, Trump emphasized that “the United States remains fully combat-ready and capable of acting against Iran.”
