Trump Says Iran Downed US Apache Helicopter Over Strait of Hormuz
President Donald Trump confirmed Iran shot down a US Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz and stated a response is forthcoming.

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump announced that Iran had shot down a US Army Apache helicopter above the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that a response from the United States is imminent.
Trump posted on his Truth Social account that he had just been informed by the US military that Iranian forces downed one of their advanced Apache helicopters during a patrol over the Strait of Hormuz the previous night.
He added that the helicopter carried two pilots, both of whom were unharmed and not injured. Despite this, Trump stressed that the United States must respond to the attack out of necessity.
Earlier the same day, Trump confirmed the safety of the crew from the US helicopter that crashed near the Strait of Hormuz.
In his remarks, Trump also mentioned the possibility that the United States might declare a "complete victory" over Iran within the next two weeks, referring to the increasing pressure on Tehran.
Subsequently, US military officials reported that a US Navy drone boat successfully rescued the two helicopter pilots off the coast of the Sultanate of Oman.
