Delcy Rodríguez, Venezuela's acting president, announced that the death toll from two earthquakes causing widespread destruction in parts of the country has risen to 2,595.
During a press conference, she indicated that the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank have offered assistance and credit to support reconstruction efforts.
She added that Venezuela is working to establish a reconstruction fund worth 200 million dollars in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, with the funds intended to be allocated to contractors for rebuilding homes destroyed by the earthquakes.
