Mbappe's Future Transfer Could Target Arsenal's Trophy Ambitions

Kylian Mbappe’s potential move to the Premier League remains a possibility, according to Mikael Silvestre, who highlighted the importance of the France international finding the “best platform” to chase significant silverware. Mbappe initially believed Real Madrid would provide that stage, but the club has yet to secure the top honours he seeks.

Despite his individual achievements, Mbappe’s pursuit of La Liga and Champions League titles is crucial if he is to solidify his status as a Ballon d’Or contender, a recognition anticipated since his teenage breakthrough. Meanwhile, his former club Paris Saint-Germain has won the Champions League in consecutive seasons, intensifying Mbappe's desire to claim European glory.

Arsenal, who have yet to secure a Champions League title and experienced a final defeat in the 2025-26 season, could potentially align with Mbappe’s ambitions. The question arises whether a partnership between the club and the forward might lead to the coveted celebrations both seek.

When asked about the likelihood of Mbappe joining Arsenal, Silvestre, a former defender for both the Gunners and France, told GOAL via BetVictor Online Casino, “I think it's unlikely any time soon. Who knows in football, everything is unpredictable. Never say never, but I find it hard to see at the moment.”

Regarding whether Arsenal’s playing style suits Mbappe better than other Premier League clubs such as Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, or Manchester United, Silvestre remarked, “I don't think the style really matters when you have a top player like this. He would fit in any team.”

He added, “So I think for him it's all about who's going to be able to win the trophy that I'm missing. If I was looking at my career, I'm 27 years old, I've won everything but the Champions League. I would pick the club who is bringing me the best platform and possibilities to do that.”

Former Arsenal player Bacary Sagna also weighed in on the prospect of Mbappe joining the club, telling GOAL, “If he joined the Premier League, I think Arsenal would suit him. All of the players are kind of the same age, dynamic, young. Arsenal players are fast.”

Sagna highlighted Arsenal’s frontline speed, noting players like Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze, and said, “Arsenal suits him the most in England. I’m not sure it’s going to happen. I don’t think it is ever going to happen because he might retire in Europe with Real Madrid.”

He compared Mbappe’s speed to that of Thierry Henry, emphasizing Henry’s impact in the Premier League, and concluded, “I think he would do well in England.”

Mbappe remains under contract with Real Madrid until 2029. For a transfer to the Premier League to occur, he would need to express a desire to leave the Bernabeu. His decision will likely depend on whether he can secure the major trophies missing from his career achievements while at Madrid.
