Pep Guardiola to Take Year-Long Break After Leaving Manchester City
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed his departure at the end of the season. He plans to take a year off from coaching and is unlikely to join another club immediately, aiming instead to manage a national team after his break.

Pep Guardiola, the head coach of Manchester City, has officially decided to leave the English club at the conclusion of the current season.
The news of Guardiola’s exit was leaked on Monday, prompting the Spanish coach to hold a group call with Manchester City players to inform them about his unexpected decision.
Spanish journalist Sergio Gonzalez shared on his X account that Guardiola’s departure from Manchester City is confirmed, with Enzo Maresca set to replace him.
Gonzalez added that the Italian coach has finalized his agreement with Manchester City and will assume the managerial role immediately following Guardiola’s exit.
According to the journalist, Guardiola will take an extended break from coaching, lasting one year. It is highly unlikely that he will return to club management during this period, as he intends to seek an opportunity to coach a national team after his hiatus.
It is worth noting that Guardiola’s contract with Manchester City runs until the summer of 2027.
