Commander of the South Litani Sector in the Lebanese Army: Army Presence Is Not Just Military Deployment but a Statement of State Presence and Commitment to the People of the South

Confirmed the commander of the South Litani sector in the Lebanese Army, Colonel Nicolas Tabet, that the Lebanese Army continues fulfilling its national duty responsibly and steadfastly amidst ongoing Israeli attacks and threats, and the resulting destruction and human suffering in the south, stressing that the army's presence in the region "is not merely a military deployment, but an expression of the state's presence and its commitment to the people of the south."

"It is an honor for me, Colonel Nicolas Tabet, commander of the South Litani sector, to welcome you on behalf of every family in the South Litani sector in this cherished region of Lebanon, which today faces one of its most critical and difficult phases due to continued Israeli attacks and threats, and the devastation and human suffering that have burdened our people in the south, who have paid a heavy price for their security, stability, and livelihoods for years," said Tabet during a speech at a visit by Prime Minister Najib Mikati and the Minister of Defense to Saida.

He added: "Under these exceptional circumstances, the Lebanese Army continues its national duty with responsibility and steadfastness, placing citizen safety, land security, and the preservation of state sovereignty at the top of its priorities, despite the challenges of the field reality, the scale of difficulties, and needs."

Tabet stressed that "our presence here is not merely a military deployment, but an expression of the state's presence and its commitment to the people of the south, and a demonstration of the army's determination to fulfill its role in protecting the country and safeguarding its sovereignty, in cooperation with legitimate authorities and international forces operating in the region, serving Lebanon's security and stability."

Addressing Mikati and the Minister of Defense, he said: "Your visit today to the south carries for us a message of support and trust in the military institution, reflecting the state's concern for the people of the south and their sacrifices."

"While we highly appreciate the continuous support provided by the government to the Lebanese Army, we assure your Excellency that this support and trust serve as a source of strength and motivation for us to continue fulfilling our duty regardless of the conditions and challenges," he added.

Tabet concluded: "Welcome to South Lebanon, where the army remains steadfast in its position, loyal to its oath, and committed to ensuring that the south remains a safe land for its people and an integral part of a free and stable nation. May God protect Lebanon, and protect its army and its people."
