Karki Announces Resumption of Operations at Saida and Tibnine Offices

General Manager of the National Social Security Fund Dr. Muhammad Karki received this morning in his office Bassam Tleis, head of the central municipal and voluntary affairs in the Amal Movement and president of the Lebanese Road Transport Unions, discussing matters related to social security and insured individuals.

During the meeting, according to a statement from the Fund's Public Relations Directorate, Tleis praised the exceptional measures and procedures implemented by the Social Security administration, under direct guidance and oversight from the General Manager, during the brutal Israeli aggression on Lebanon, noting that all health and social services were maintained without interruption for displaced insured individuals, with their transactions processed in their displacement areas, thereby alleviating their burden as much as possible, particularly amid the difficult security, economic, and social conditions currently facing the country.

Tleis also highlighted the current plan aimed at reactivating offices and centers that were forcibly suspended due to the aggression. Dr. Karki briefed him on the reopening of the Airport Road Office since July 22, 2026, with normal operations resumed for receiving insured individuals and employers and processing all their transactions, especially since this office serves over 40,000 insured persons.

Dr. Karki also announced the resumption of operations at the Social Security offices in Saida and Tibnine, with gradual work restarting, and preparations have already begun today for reopening the Social Security office in Nabatiyeh.

The General Manager emphasized the importance of these steps in restoring social security services to areas damaged by the war, particularly in the cities of Saida and Nabatiyeh and the entire southern region, following an exceptional phase that posed significant challenges for staff, insured individuals, and employers, urging them to visit their respective offices to complete pending transactions or submit new ones, reaffirming that the Fund will continue enhancing its presence across all regions and improving its services.

Dr. Karki also discussed with Mr. Tleis the situation of public transport drivers affiliated with the Fund, particularly those from the southern suburbs of Beirut, where they constitute the largest group. Mr. Tleis proposed establishing a dedicated Social Security office for them to facilitate access to benefits provided by the Fund.

At the end of the meeting, both Tleis and Karki commended the dedication of Fund users who continue working diligently despite the difficult living and security conditions they face.
