The National Social Security Fund announced a new payment of 351 billion Lebanese pounds in financial advances to hospitals and doctors, bringing total healthcare sector payments to approximately 7.4 trillion pounds.

The Public Relations Directorate of the National Social Security Fund announced in a statement that the Fund's plan is progressing at a notable pace on multiple fronts. Following the adoption of the Fresh check payment mechanism for benefits and the continuation of oversight efforts to curb fraud attempts last week, the Fund's Director General, Mohammad Karki, begins this month with a new batch of financial advances to doctors and hospitals, after having paid approximately 564 billion about 10 days ago.
Karki issued three decisions dated 30/10/2026, numbered 568, 569, and 570, ordering the payment of new financial advances to hospitals and doctors contracted with the Fund, worth 351 billion LL. These funds cover the cost of 4,416 transactions for insured patients who received treatment at the expense of the Fund, and will be transferred to hospital and doctor accounts within the next few days.
With this new installment, the total medical advances paid by the Fund since the beginning of the year rises to approximately 6.112 trillion LL, increasing total payments to the healthcare sector to around 7.4 trillion LL, equivalent to 83 million US dollars, excluding amounts paid to hospitals that do not benefit from the advance system.
On another note, the Director General announced that new projects to increase healthcare, medical, medical supplies, and drug tariffs will soon see the light of day. The awaited decisions will constitute an additional tangible step in the path of improving health coverage for insured persons. He confirmed that work does not stop at the health aspect alone; rather, the Fund has a set of promising projects currently being worked on across health, financial, and logistical levels. The Fund will not settle for what it has achieved but will continue to develop its working mechanisms and leverage the best technologies and modern communication means to facilitate insured access to services and reduce time and procedures.
