Unlicensed and Unmonitored: Pig Slaughterhouse Raided in Keserwan
Judicial authorities raided an unlicensed pig farm and slaughterhouse in Keserwan, arresting two individuals for operating without legal permits or health standards.
As part of the ongoing judicial follow-up on illegal farms and slaughterhouses that lack legal licenses and medical standards, the Jounieh Judicial Detachment, acting on instructions from Prosecutor General Judge Ahmad Rami Al-Hajj, arrested two individuals managing a farm and slaughterhouse
for pigs in the Keserwan area. This action followed a physical medical inspection conducted by the Jounieh Judicial Detachment and delegates from the Ministry of Public Health, which revealed the absence of legal licenses and the lack of sanitary and veterinary requirements for raising and slaughtering pigs.
The Prosecutor General referred the detainees to the Central Criminal Investigations Division for expanded interrogation and pending laboratory test results on meat samples collected by health inspectors.
