A 16-year-old girl reported missing from Adıyaman was located by police in Şanlıurfa, where she had slept in parks for twelve days.

Police located Elvan Yücetaş, a 16-year-old who had been out of contact for twelve days, in the city center of Şanlıurfa. The teenager had left her home in Adıyaman on the morning of September 28 with the intention of going to the market, prompting her parents to file a report when she did not return.

Following the initial notification, units from the Adıyaman Provincial Police Directorate’s Asayiş Branch and Child Branch launched a search operation. These teams determined that Yücetaş was present in Şanlıurfa, leading to her recovery by law enforcement officers exactly twelve days after her departure.
Authorities confirmed that the young woman spent the duration of her absence sleeping in public parks within Şanlıurfa. Her physical health was assessed as good upon discovery. During the interaction with police, Yücetaş stated that she did not wish to meet with her family.
Once administrative procedures are finalized, Yücetaş will be transferred to a child protection institution located in Şanlıurfa. Her parents, Yıldız and Abdurrahman Yücetaş, reside in the Yeşilyurt neighborhood of central Adıyaman and had contacted the 112 Emergency Call Center to report her disappearance.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the case remain ongoing.
