Iraq has intensified its security efforts against terrorist groups through simultaneous ground and air operations in the provinces of Nineveh and Kirkuk.

These operations involved the seizure of substantial quantities of weapons and ammunition, alongside airstrikes targeting terrorist hideouts and caches, based on precise intelligence reports.

The Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service announced the seizure of a large weapons depot containing numerous missiles in the Hamdaniya district of Nineveh province, according to the Iraqi News Agency (WAFA).

In an official statement, the agency detailed that its forces, relying on accurate intelligence, conducted a security mission resulting in the capture of a weapons cache comprising a wide array of missiles, mortar shells, improvised explosive devices, and other materials in Hamdaniya district.

The Counter-Terrorism Service affirmed its ongoing commitment to carrying out specialized operations across Iraq aimed at maintaining security and stability.

Separately, the Security Media Cell reported that Iraqi F-16 fighter jets carried out airstrikes against terrorist hideouts and shelters in the Dibis district of Kirkuk province.

The cell explained that the operation followed meticulous planning and continuous monitoring, coordinated with the targeting cell at the Joint Operations Command, and was based on intelligence surveillance lasting five consecutive days.

It added that the airstrikes were executed based on precise intelligence verified by the Iraqi National Intelligence Service in cooperation with the Counter-Terrorism Service, targeting terrorist hideouts in the border areas separating the central government and the Kurdistan Region near Dibis district.
