Xi to Make State Visit to US This Fall
Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit the US this fall at President Trump's invitation, China's foreign minister announced Friday.

A state visit to the United States by Chinese President Xi Jinping is set for this coming autumn, following an invitation from US President Donald Trump. Foreign Minister Wang Yi disclosed the planned trip on Friday.
"At the invitation of US President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to the United States this fall," Wang Yi stated.
Multiple Presidential Meetings This Year
Earlier, Trump had outlined plans for four meetings with his Chinese counterpart in 2026, including one expected on the sidelines of the G20 summit scheduled for Miami. Trump arrived in Beijing on May 13 for talks with Xi, wrapping up his three-day visit to China on Friday.
New Diplomatic Framework, Limited Strategic Breakthrough
The Beijing summit produced a new diplomatic framework termed "constructive relations with strategic stability." Despite the cordial atmosphere and a handful of signed trade deals, analysts assess the visit yielded only tactical gains, falling short of a strategic breakthrough on the contentious issues dividing the two nations.
