The Consumer Protection Directorate conducted 10,567 field inspections and issued 472 violation reports from January 1 to June 19, 2026.

The Consumer Protection Directorate at the Ministry of Economy and Trade reported in its weekly update that since the start of the war, from March 1 to June 19, 2026, it carried out 7,463 field inspection visits.
During this period, 326 violation reports were recorded, and 354 cases were referred to the competent judiciary. The directorate also responded to 426 complaints.
From the beginning of the year, January 1 until June 19, 2026, the directorate conducted 10,567 field inspection visits.
It issued 472 violation reports and referred 652 cases to the judiciary. Additionally, 10 suspension decisions were issued against commercial institutions, and 608 complaints were addressed.
In the week from June 15 to June 19, 2026, the Consumer Protection Directorate responded to 17 complaints and carried out 453 inspections, resulting in 16 violation reports. Thirteen of these cases were sent to the judiciary.
The directorate has intensified its monitoring tours since the beginning of the current war, following a circular issued by the Minister of Economy and Trade, Dr. Amer Al-Bassat, dated March 3, 2026, which called for stricter oversight.
The Ministry of Economy and Trade affirmed the continuation of its regulatory campaigns in coordination with security agencies and the implementation of necessary legal measures against violators to ensure consumer protection and market stability.
