Paul Scholes doubts Cole Palmer would fit at Manchester United due to Bruno Fernandes' role.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has questioned where Cole Palmer would fit into the current squad, suggesting the Chelsea star would not replicate the impact of Bruno Fernandes at Old Trafford. Recent reports have linked the Red Devils with a summer move for the English playmaker, though Palmer has publicly stated his contentment at Stamford Bridge and dismissed any plans to leave.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Scholes was blunt about the potential transfer. "I don't see where he plays for United, that's the problem," he said. The former midfielder elaborated, "I see him in a similar position to Bruno. Look, he won't have the same effect that Bruno has had on this team."
Scholes did acknowledge Palmer's talent, adding: "Whether you can play him on the right side, cutting in on his left foot, yes, he's a fantastic footballer. Again, he's gone quiet, but everyone at Chelsea has gone quiet—I'm not entirely sure what's happening at that club." The United icon continued, "As long as you have many good players in your team, why not? He can decide games on his day."
Beyond the Palmer debate, Scholes believes United need to sign two new midfielders this summer. He specifically named Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson as the club's top priority target. Reflecting on last summer's business, Scholes said: "I think last summer was fairly good; they sorted out the attack, and Benjamin Sesko looks good too. Well, he's picked up another injury, and they might need another striker."
